130 William
Overview
Designed to be different — with purpose. 130 William couldn’t exist anywhere else. Sir David Adjaye uses the neighborhood context as a starting point. He pushes against the conventions of tall glass towers with curves and arches inspired by local precedent. At 66 stories and nearly 800 feet tall, Adjaye’s first New York City high-rise tower is an important contribution to the New York City skyline. 130 William’s hand-cast concrete facade creates a striking form against the cityscape of Lower Manhattan. Elevated above the city streets, each residence is a haven offering respite from the activity of the city. Sir David Adjaye considers natural light a design element, crafting airy interiors framed by oversized arched windows. Wide plank white oak flooring underfoot enhances warmth throughout, while custom Adjaye-designed bronze fixtures add a sense of detailed refinement. All residences feature custom Italian marble quarried from the Apuan Alps and crafted by artisans in Tuscany. The unique stone simultaneously heightens the sense of luxury within the space and creates an enhanced sensorial experience. The topmost ten stories of the building are home to the Penthouse and Loggia Residences. The interiors are comprised of generously scaled room and loft-like ceilings with heights from 11 feet up to 14 feet that flow seamlessly into expansive and covered outdoor spaces.
